The Sherlocks s’apprêtent à sortir un nouvel album, People Like Me & You.

The Sherlocks

James – Tomorrow

EN: Always loved this song. I think that song influenced me immediately and still does to this day. I love the arrangement and how the instrumentation on it… the vocal is powerful and commands the rest of the song. So yeah, I think this is definitely one that showed me how to write a song and come up with different ideas.

The Strokes – Someday

EN: This track as definitely inspired us as a band because of it’s youth and careless attitude. The Strokes have always been a cool band for me purely because the guitar playing is incredible. They’ll often be playing two separate parts but combined it sounds class… as a loose to them both playing big power chords like Oasis for example… so I think they showed us that there’s different ways to come at and still write classic indie rock songs. Proper cool band.

Libertines – Death on the Stairs

EN: For me personally, Libertines were one of, if not probably my favourite band growing up. I loved them, and still do now… but back when I was a secondary school I would literally listen to them everyday and just absorb the songs. They played probably the biggest part in us starting the band and song writing personally for me. Again, they signified youth, chaos, mental gigs where people are just going nuts… everything I wanted to get into. This was always one of my favourite tracks by them.

Kings of Leon – California Waiting

Always had a soft spot for this when it comes on a playlist. Great tune!! Rocking tune but with a vibe. When we had the pleasure of supporting Kings of Leon at Sheffield arena it was truly incredible. Amazing band! I think we reference at least 3/4 different tracks from kings of Leon when we go in the studio.

The Police – Message in a bottle

EN: What a tune!! We played this from the early days in the pubs and clubs. Truly is a great song which helped us learn our trade. From the driving drums to the melody. Incredible song writing, a song that will be played forever!
